OUR STORY

The Cape Dance Teachers Association was founded in 2004 by local teachers passionate about dance. We noticed the need for a new Modern dance syllabus that encouraged balletic technique with the freedom to express yourself through different movement styles. Since then, the organisation has grown to include various other events and provides countless opportunities for dancers to develop their skills and have fun doing it.

The CDTA prides itself on hosting events that accommodate every type of dancer and provides a nurturing space that encourages healthy competition without a toxic environment. Whether you dance for nothing more than enjoyment or you’re striving to become a pro, your needs will be catered to at CDTA events. Studios that attend our events become integrated into a passionate community of teachers, parents and dancers who all share a common passion for dance.
